1. Linksys Wmp54g Drivers

No need to be harsh. A chipset and a brand name are not the same thing. Linksys (the brand name) made a ton of these cards under model number WMP54g and they all have different chipsets. Wonderfully confusing, isn't it? So he may have the Broadcom, or the Realtek (Ralink) or something else. To get your chipset, Artic Shadow, copy the Hardware ID in the Device Manager>>Properties>>Details. Google it and you should see people talking about it along with it's chipset name.

This will hopefully lead to a working driver. FYI the Windows driver for mine (dated 6/2010 does not work.) Also, the conflicts others are talking about are most likely because they are dealing with a Realtek/Ralink chipset. Realtek is in everything, and unfortunately doesn't play nice with iteself. So Ram, Sound cards, and Video Cards with any Realtek chipsets will often get uninstalled or will refuse to allow your wireless card. (Trust me, I am stearing clear of Realtek, Ralink and ATI from now on. AMD owns them now, but they're just trying to clean up the mess. Hopefully!) My Wifi hardware ID is PCI VEN_1814&DEV_0301&CC_0280 Ralink/Realtek I have Win7-32bit/Realtek onboard sound/ATI Radion with Realtek HDMI sound/3.0Gb ram (Realtek?)/ Intel based cpu/Dell mobo.

So short story, just get a new card for $20 or less because it's not worth it with this one. It will keep doing this even after you get it working. (I got the TP-link USB 802.11n from NewEgg, and made sure it is not Realek. It's an Atheros chipset.) Long story.

BTW a lot of my problems cleared up when i updated my chipset drivers for my Motherboard. Especially if you installed a plain copy of Windows onto an OEM system, it might help. In addition I installed the 'Chipset software' which updated my inf files from the generic versions and helped smooth some hardware conflicts. I went to Intel's website.

And of course, *sigh*, Windows updates. Similar help and support threads Thread Forum I have Linksys WMP54G wireless PCI adapter. When I bought it I was told there was Windows 7 support.

I cannot find any win7 drivers for it. Their site only has vista 32bit drivers. Tried them and it causes BSOD on my pc. Mac compatible webcams. Is there any other way to find drivers for this? I talked with linksys.

Drivers tried a handful of different driver sets that seemed to work ok for people with earlier versions of the card that i found on here. Nothing works for mine! Am i gonna have to wait for linksys to come out with proper win7 drivers or are there vista driver sets or something i can use on mine? Network & Sharing Hi.

I recently upgraded to windows 7 professional, and now my network adapter does not work. I have a Linksys WMP54Gv4 wireless network adapter. I checked with Linksys and apparently they don't have windows 7 drivers yet. If anyone knows of any fixes or ways to get around this problem I would. Drivers I just upgraded to Windows 7 a couple days ago, am using the x64 RC 7600 version. Anyhow, My linksys wifi card has been having troubles and I can't seem to find a good driver for it and to be honest I'm not even sure what the issues is. All I know is that my connection will randomly drop every 30.

Network & Sharing Hey guys, this seems to be a common problem. Windows 7 wont recognize my wireless card (wmp54g). I've seen fixes for x64, but am wondering about x32. Any help is appreciated! Network & Sharing Our Sites Site Links About Us Find Us • • • • • • •.

Could someone post a screenshot of the Notebook Adapter Properties Advanced tab of the previous driver so I can see what has changed? About the same time I upgraded the driver my connection now throttles down to as low as 1 Mbps with my laptop being only 5 feet away from my WRT54G AP. It even slows down my webpages loading, which at 1 Mbps should come up very quickly - so I think it's a packet loss issue. It's very sporadic. There's no other 2.4Ghz interference nearby that I could tell that would cause such a degradation in performance. When I initially installed the updated driver, I had left the card inserted in the computer. Somehow the installer didn't detect that I have WindowsXP and installed the Win98/ME supplicant and extra adapters.

It took a system restore to get that cleared out. So if you upgrade, make sure you uninstall and eject your card. WMP54G Advanced Properties I'm still troubleshooting random disconnects and speed loss even though my notebook is about 5' from the Access Point (WRT54G).
