I will just copy and edit an answer to but I believe it still applies here: This problem is probably due to kext signing introduced with OS X 10.10 Yosemite. With it you can't run any unsigned drivers and old one is probably unsigned. You might try to disable kext signing if you want to use the driver. Make sure you absolutely have to do it and you don't have other options since this change is system wide and system is becoming less secure after that.
Jun 19, 2012 Introduction to the A-H01 Stereo Pre-main Amplifier with D/A Converter with USB audio input for PC/Mac.
Sony® Drivers & Software. Important Notes To use this driver one of the following Microsoft® Windows Vista™ operating systems must be installed on the computer. Canon drivers for mac.
In Terminal: sudo nvram boot-args='kext-dev-mode=1' And reboot. Then try and report if driver is working.
To go back to kext signing put this in Terminal: sudo nvram boot-args='kext-dev-mode=0' And reboot. I have become interested in the DAC and now I see it has Optical Input. So other workaround might be just using miniToslink to Toslink (or just normal Toslink cable if your Mac is a Mac Pro).
Experience unparalleled sound straight from your computer. Turn your computer in to a part of your Hi-Fi system. Integrated Amplifier with USB streaming TEAC's A-H01 combines a high-quality D/A converter with a stereo amplifier to create a compact audio system for your home or office. Five stereo inputs are available – 2 analog and 3 digital format. The Burr Brown digital-to-analog converter supports high-resolution sample rates up to 192kHz/32-bit. The USB 2.0 input can be used with your Mac or Windows computer for audiophile-grade music playback of your music library.
It's ideal for playback of FLAC, WAV, Apple Lossless and other high-res file formats. The A-H01's connects to speakers through a B&O ICE power stereo amplifier providing 50W per channel. Heavy-duty, gold plated binding post terminals connect to speaker cable of any thickness. A subwoofer pre-out is provided for extra punch, and a great-sounding headphone amp for private listening. Pro tip for mac. Available in black or silver, the TEAC AH-01 is ideal for enjoying high-resolution playback from your computer. Color Variations A-H01-S (Silver) A-H01-B (Black) Main Features Compact High-Performance/High-Output Amplifier The amplifier circuitry uses the 50ASX2 by Bang & Olufsen ICEpower of Denmark. High efficiency conversion allows compact dimensions despite high-output (60W + 60W) – power comparable to full-size amplifiers.
Energy efficient design minimizes power consumption (34W) compared to the approximately 85W consumed by conventional products (45W + 45W). Expandability and Input/Output Connector Options Belying it's Compact Dimensions Despite its compact dimensions, the A-H01 offers the full range of connection outputs a listener would except of an amplifier designed for use in PC-based audio setups, including two digital inputs (one coaxial and one optical) and two analog inputs, in addition to a USB port (for connecting to a PC). The speaker connections are large binding post accommodating cables up to AWG8. The speaker connectors also support BANANA plugs and a subwoofer pre-out terminal. A headphone jack lets users enjoy audio late at night, in spaces with neighbors close by or other situations where speaker playback might disturb others. Built-in Burr-Brown PCM5102 DAC for a High Performance and a Broad Range of Digital Audio Sources The A-H01 uses a Burr-Brown PCM5102 DAC.
After installing the appropriate driver, listeners simply connect a Windows or Mac computer via a USB cable to ensure a digital signal path all the way to the DAC, transforming the iTunes or other media players into high quality audio devices. The A-H01's specifications will satisfy even the most fastidious of audiophiles, including support for audio sources of up to 24bit/192kHz and asynchronous USB. High-Performance Components that Measure up to Full-Size Amplifiers A-H01 incorporates a motor-driven volume knob and an aluminum front panel.
