Hello Word keeps freezing on me - possibly think it is because i am using a bunch of textboxes in word for my study notes? Never happened to me before yesterday but since yesterday has happened at least 10x. Any help on how to fix this (or what to do to prevent this from constantly occurring!) would be appreciated! Hi, I do not have a Mac and am writing from my experiences with the Windows version. That version is similar, but the two are not the same. While I've used Word on a Mac, that was a long time ago. Nevertheless, I hope that I can be of some help.
Apr 12, 2018 To remove Word preferences, follow these steps: Quit all Office applications. On the Go menu, click Home. Open Library. Note The Library folder is hidden in Mac OS X Lion. To display this folder, hold down the OPTION key while you click the Go menu. Open Preferences. Drag com.microsoft.word.plist and the Microsoft folder to the desktop. Restart the Mac. Yours is the second report I've seen today of major problems with textboxes in Word for the Mac. I would recommend trying to back up to a previous udpate. Office for the Mac has undergone dramatic changes in Office 2016/365. Developers are trying hard to make the Mac and Windows versions have the same or equivalent features. They are making real progress. However, fixing one thing sometimes breaks others.
You can use the User Feedback feature to let them know if they've broken something. There may be a fix coming soon. I’d suggest checking for updates - it may take several tries for Office to recognize that there is an update, so try checking a few times.
In the meantime, I suggest using a previous version or update until it is fixed. To do that, you’ll need to uninstall the current version, download the old version, and install it. Here are the instructions on how to uninstall for Mac:. Here is the link to install the latest stable version:. Here is a link to allow you to choose an earlier update release:.
I hope this information helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions or require further help. Regards Please mark helpful or answered as appropriate to help other users. Pci driver for windows 7. When shopping for a PCI serial card be aware that the socket will match your computer. Since this is a problem with just one file, I think Uninstall/Reinstall would be an enormous waste of time. FYI - there is an update available. Installing the update basically performs an install, and it's a whole lot faster and easier than uninstall/reinstall and accomplishes the same thing. Ensure your Mac and Office have the latest updates. Here’s how to install updates: Make sure your Mac has a working internet connection, then: • Update Mac OS X. Open the App store and click on the Updates button.
Install the updates. • After, in any Office application go to the Help menu and choose Check for Updates to launch the AutoUpdate app. Let AutoUpdate install updates and then restart your Mac.
If you use Antidote, Webex, Silverlight, EndNote, Zotero or other add-ins there is a potential for crashes unless you also update your add-ins to the latest update. Install updates for these programs if you have them. Even at that, I don't think the problem with your document will be fixed by updating (even though you should update). One way to fix a damaged document is to use File > Save As and save it to an older file format. Then Quit Word. Next, open the freshly saved file. If it is now OK, then use File > Save As again and save it back to the current file format.
