This thread is about which game in your opinion approaches photo-realism the most, it doesn't necessarily has to be a graphics king, rendered on last gen or 4k, it just has to look photorealistic or a good use of PBR. A lot of current gen games are employing Physically Based Rendering now as opposed to last gen titles such as Crysis 3, Battlefield 4, Bioshock Infinite etc. So the realism in new gen titles such as Killzone ShadowFall, DriveClub, Battlefront and The Order that has PBR would look substantially more accurate to real life. In no sequential order DriveClub The Order Until Dawn Detroit And last for the giggles. Funnt how the last picture is the only one that has a draw distance of more than 4 feet. TC just got asshurt that Crysis 3 uses PBR and feel jelly about it. Let me post how DF declared Crysis 2 to be superior to sub HD Crapzone: Shadow Fail and everything 900pStation.

All of which begs the question: could these new consoles run Crysis 3? Ryse delivers the full suite of CryEngine features with excellent image quality and it's still just a launch title. I'm starting to doubt you even own a PlayStation 4 @gpuking the order looks exactly like that while playing. The DC shots are indeed photo mode, but IQ aside look the same. Let me put it this way, those are low quality images scaled to a substantially lower resolution than what they actually render.

When you lose fine details in an image and it looks somewhat realistic to begin with, this amplifies that illusion even further as you can't pick it apart. In other words these crappy looking images make these games look better than they actually do even though they're low quality images, the low quality and scaled down resolution is what makes them appear better, ironically. It's the same reason games like The Order have such an overabundance of blurring throughout the game, it masks fine details and things that ruin the illusion of it looking good. It's like the scaled down.gif's people post around here of Driveclub for example, that is such a poor representation of what it actually looks like in play on a TV.
